Medical Data Donors e.V. seeks to build an annotated image database, which will serve as a basis for medical big data research and the development of reliable machine learning algorithms. You can support us by donating your medical image data or by shopping at Amazon Smile.

After data donations have been made, we maintain the relationship with the patients and let them know at all times what is happening to their data.

In order to annotate the donated data, we follow a crowdsourcing approach which is based on gamification techniques.
Patient privacy
To ensure patient privacy, we comply with the EU data protection laws. If in doubt, patients can revoke the permission to use their data at any time.
Mission
Medical Data Donors e.V. is a non-profit organization that aims to support medical big data research. Our mission is to overcome the problem of limited data availability in the medical domain. We therefore strive to collect medical image data that has been willingly donated by patients and make it available for research purposes. In order to annotate the data and thus prepare it for machine learning tasks, we pursue crowdsourcing approaches based on gamification techniques. Since patient privacy is very important to us, we comply with EU data protection laws at all times.
Donation, but how?
Medical Data Donors e.V. is actively asking patients to donate their data after a clinical examination has taken place and the diagnosis has been confirmed. We use special envelopes in which both the data and a corresponding declaration of consent can be sent to our offices.

If you are interested in becoming a member, simply fill out the letter of accession and mail it. The current membership fees can be found in our contribution regulation.
